Our Soaking Pools
Our Soaking Pools
We currently offer nine outdoor, communal soaking pools set right along the shores of Hot Lake, designed to blend with the natural surroundings and encourage a shared, peaceful experience.
The round pools comfortably seat six to eight people. The historic brick pool and rock pool seat about eight to ten people. The square pools seat about six. Each pool draws from the resort’s abundant geothermal source, providing a scenic spot to soak and take in the views.
Contrast & Reset
Contrast & Reset
Complement your warm soak with our single-person cold plunge tub, a refreshing reset right alongside the hot pools. We aim to keep the water around 40–45°F, though the temperature can vary slightly depending on outside conditions and how often guests transition from the hot tubs.
This invigorating dip helps cool the body, sharpen focus, and invigorate the senses, perfect for those who enjoy contrast therapy or simply want a quick, bracing moment of clarity before returning to the warmth. Step in, breathe deep, and let the chill awaken you.
Soaking Styles

Everyone soaks for different reasons, some of the most common are: restorative (to recharge deeply), recovery-focused (after activity or travel), unwind-oriented (to melt away everyday tension), and grounding (for quiet centering amid nature). What type of soaker are you? Our lakeside pools offer the perfect space to explore your own style of relaxation.
History of Soaking
History of Soaking
For centuries, people have sought out Hot Lake’s geothermal springs for soaking. Long before European arrival, Native Americans, including the Nez Perce, gathered here to immerse in the warm, mineral-rich waters.
In the 1800s, weary Oregon Trail travelers paused to soak and refresh after long journeys. By the early 1900s, the site evolved into a bustling resort with dedicated bathhouses, drawing visitors far and wide to experience the same enduring geothermal soak that continues today.
